Charles Stone - Jefferson City Swing Dance Club

From his introduction to Swing Dance while serving in the military in Germany in the early 1980's, Charles' passion for dancing and introducing others to its benefits has grown steadily. From 1984 to 1994 he taught dance lessons in Germany, England, Ireland and Belgium. When he returned to the United States, he immediately began to teach lessons and in 1996 re-located to Jefferson City.
While volunteering his time and services to the dance community, his dream of promoting dance to mid-Missouri came to fruition as the Jefferson City Swing Dance Club in 2009, where he has served as President since that time. His passion for the dance community is shown in his tireless commitment to its growth and his teaching services to the Club and community groups and organizations throughout MidÂMissouri in his quest to introduce more persons to the joy of dance.
Charles also serves on the Board of the Midwest Swing Dance Federation and coordinated a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club by which the Swing Dance Club provides dance and training activities as part of summer camp. He has also implemented monthly dance classes at the local Eagles Club as well as at the YWCA and two local nursing homes.
Charles is a true Ambassador of dance and, with over 30 years of commitment, deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
