Bud Waters
For over a decade, Bud has been helping make St Louis, Mo., one of the premier swing dance locations in the United States. Bud has served on the board of directors for the West County Swing Dance Clubfor eleven years. Of those eleven years, Bud has been an officer of the club for 9, serving as President for 5 years ...longer than anyone else who has held that position. While in office at WCSDC, he established many procedures and processes ...i.e., designed and inaugurated WCSDC first anticipated income statement and operating budgets. Through Bud’s leadership, WCSDC moved to a new facility, that has resulted in a 25% increase in membership plus an overall better dancing experience, a larger dance floor and improved, upscale amenities. He has been active in the Midwest Swing Dance Federation for many years, serving as Vice President and as a representative from WCSDC. Also filling positions as the newsletter editor and as webmaster for West County Swing Dance Club, Midwest Swing Dance Federation and Moolah Shrine Swing Dance Club and Chairman of Rollin’ On The River for several years. He has been a DJ for over 40 years and presently DJs for all local Federated clubs in and around St Louis as well as several out of town events. He is a member of the National Association of Rhythm and Blues Dee Jays, and has been a dance instructor for many years, teaching for organized dance clubs here in St Louis as well as many charitable organizations. Bud was also instrumental in starting the Moolah Shrine Swing Dance Club, and member of the Midwest Swing Dance Federation. The net proceeds are given to the Shriner’s organization to help children all over North America. This was his project from the very start. The club’s motto is “We dance so kids can walk”.
